Would you like them in a train? Or on a plane? Dr. Seuss’ greatest children’s book comes
to life with the accompaniment of the ST L Symphony and the Really Inventive Stuff
theatre group. Join Sam as he explores all the different ways to eat his favorite dish!
Hip Hop Symphony

Learn about musical form in this innovative program pairing hip hop choreography by
COCA’s Redd Williams with classical favorites performed by the ST L Symphony.
When the dancers take the stage, you’ll see the visual and physical representation
of what you’re hearing!

Britten’s classic The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra gets a new spin with
the addition of dancers from DanceWorks Chicago. Watch as the orchestra comes
together section by section before your eyes. This dynamic partnership makes for
a magical experience where the whole is much larger than the sum of its parts!
The Remarkable Farkle McBride
Based on the book by John Lithgow
Kinder Konzert (Grades K-3):

Poor Farkle McBride tries every instrument, but none of them are quite right.
With text from the popular children’s book by John Lithgow accompanied by
selections from Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, join Farkle on his journey
to find his place in the orchestra, and learn about the different instrument
families along the way.
LINK UP! Grades 3-5:
May 15, 2013 at 9:30 & 11 am
A comprehensive curriculum teaching
basic musical literacy and concepts,
culminating in an interactive performance
at Powell Hall where students are invited
to sing and play instruments along with
the St. Louis Symphony. Teacher training
workshop mandatory for attendance.
Kiddie Concert
Feb. 25, 2013
For students ages 3-5. Must be participants
in the Symphony In Your School program.
The Snowy Day is an interactive program
based on the classic children’s story by
Ezra Jack Keats, with music from Vivaldi’s
Four Seasons, and performed by STL
Symphony musicians. After the concert,
children are invited to try the instruments
themselves at our instrument Playground.
Space is limited for this concert.

Choose which concert or concerts you’d like your class to attend
and reserve your seats by calling (314) 286-4156 or email to education@stlsymphony.org. Payment is due 30
days prior to the concert(s). We will send your tickets to you after
payment is received. Cancellations or exchanges may be made only
before payment. Please include any teachers or chaperones in your
reservations (all tickets are the same price, $5 for a single
concert). Please note any special
seating requirements due to physical challenges
