STL Symphony Principal Cello Danny Lee performs the exquisite melodies of Dvořák’s Cello Concerto, a lasting tribute to his beloved sister-in-law. Toronto Symphony music director Peter Oundjian leads one of Tchaikovsky’s most joyous works, his Second Symphony. The exuberant work is full of folk melodies from the Ukraine, a country frequently referred to as “Little Russia” in Tchaikovsky’s day.

Rachmaninoff himself performed the Concerto No. 2 four times with the STL Symphony before his death in 1943.
