STL Symphony Principal Cello Danny Lee performs the exquisite melodies of Dvořák’s Cello Concerto, a lasting tribute to his beloved sister-in-law.  Toronto Symphony music director Peter Oundjian leads one of Tchaikovsky’s most joyous works, his Second Symphony.  The exuberant work is full of folk melodies from the Ukraine, a country frequently referred to as “Little Russia” in Tchaikovsky’s day.

Pianist Steven Hough joins the STL Symphony for one of the most beloved concertos in piano repertoire. Rachmaninoff composed his Piano Concerto No. 1 at the age of nineteen as did the young Shostakovich with his bold Symphony No. 1. These early works are full of imagination and vigor displaying the composers’ promising talents.

Pianist Stephen Hough joins the STL Symphony for one of the most beloved concertos in piano repertoire. Regarded as Rachmaninoff's most enduringly popular pieces, the Piano Concerto No. 2 established his fame as a concerto composer.  Rachmaninoff himself performed the Concerto No. 2 four times with the STL Symphony before his death in 1943.
