ST. LOUIS SYMPHONY OFFERS FREE TICKETS FOR TOUR RALLY CONCERT

Symphony to perform European tour repertoire during August 28 concert at Powell Hall

ST. LOUIS— Starting August 1, 2012, free tickets are available for a special St. Louis Symphony Tour Rally concert taking place at Powell Hall on Tuesday, August 28 at 5:30pm. The event will give the city a chance to cheer on its Symphony as it heads to Europe and also preview the repertoire that will be performed there September 4-7. Works by Brahms, Schoenberg, Sibelius, Gershwin and Elliott Carter are planned for this special concert.

The 2012 European Tour is the Symphony’s first international outing since 1998, with performances in London, Berlin, Lucerne and Paris. Monsanto is the presenting sponsor of the tour. Mayor Francis Slay is expected at the event, as are other community leaders and celebrities.
