Press Release 8/3/2012 - Concert Ticket Update
ST. LOUIS SYMPHONY TOUR RALLY CONCERT: STANDING ROOM ONLY
Symphony to perform European tour repertoire during August 28 concert at Powell Hall
ST. LOUIS—Two days after an initial offering, the vast majority of free tickets available for the St. Louis Symphony Tour Rally concert scheduled for Tuesday, August 28 are gone.
The Symphony will release a few more tickets on August 21 and people interested in claiming them should check the Symphony’s website: www.stlsymphony.org. Patrons are also encouraged to come to Powell Hall the day of the concert to pick up any unclaimed tickets which may remain.
The event will give the city a chance to cheer on its Symphony as it heads to Europe. The audience will also preview the repertoire that will be performed during the tour, September 4-7. Works by Brahms, Schoenberg, Sibelius, Gershwin and Elliott Carter are planned for this special concert.
The 2012 European Tour is the Symphony’s first international outing since 1998, with performances in London, Berlin, Lucerne and Paris. Monsanto is the presenting sponsor of the tour. Mayor Francis Slay is expected at the event, as are other community leaders and celebrities.
