IRA Charitable Rollover Gifts
The IRA Charitable Rollover was signed into law on December 18, 2015. This law extends the IRA Charitable Rollover retroactively for 2015 and makes it permanent for future years. Please consider a gift to the STL Symphony from your IRA account as you plan your annual required minimum distributions.
- You must be 70½ or older when you make your gift, and the gift must be made from an IRA—no other retirement plans (such as 401(k), 403(b) or SEP accounts) qualify.
- Contributions up to $100,000 are allowed ($200,000 for married couples).
- Your gift must come to us outright—it cannot be used to establish a life-income arrangement or support a donor-advised fund.
- Although the distribution will be free from income tax, it will not generate an income tax charitable deduction.
The STL Symphony gratefully accepts gifts of stock or appreciated securities. To notify the STL Symphony of your stock gift, please contact Karen Schleicher at 314-286-4185.
