The St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra has had a significant impact on the region’s Student musicians for the past 41 years. The Youth Orchestra consists of 95-100 young musicians ranging in age from 12-22.

The St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra rehearses weekly on Saturday afternoons at Powell Symphony Hall. Rehearsals consist of a 90 minute Beyond Rehearsal session aimed at cultivating the whole musician.

The St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra sponsors a concerto competition each winter for current members. Winners are selected by a panel of three judges, including the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra conductor and two St. Louis Symphony musicians.
